UJCC Faith-Based and Community-Based Town Hall Forum

 

UJCC Collaborative is hosting a Faith and Community-Based Town Hall Community Forum entitled:

 

"President Obama's American Recovery & Reinvestment Act: "Putting Our Communities Back to Work"

 

Saturday, May 9th from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at City of Refuge Church - Bishop Noel Jones, Pastor, located at 14527 South San Pedro Street, Gardena, CA.  90248.

 

The purpose of the Town Hall Community Forum is to present the Act in an understandable way, to identify federal, state, county and local job opportunities for youth, young adults, unemployed and under-employed constituents, identify small minority business opportunities, and to identify access points and processes.

 

The Legislative and Faith-Based/Community-Based Panel will consist of representatives from the federal, state, county, city, public agency, and faith levels to explain the Stimulus Package in layman's terms, to explain the Stimulus Package in layman's sterms, to identify opportunities, and to identify the access points and processes.  Each panelist will give a one (1) minute overview and will discuss: 1) how your community can benefit from the Stimulus Package; 2) identify major shovel ready projects; 3) provide information about job creation, job training and jobs; 4) Identify minority and small business opportunities; 5) discuss regional Economic Recovery Work Plan; 6) Identify benefits to assist faith community in capacity building.

 

The panel Co- Moderators will be Commissioner Jerome Horton, California State Assemblyman Emeritus, and Niele Anderson, 93.5 FM Radio Host and LA Sentinel Religious Editor
